ECI Endurance Race Series II - 25K Arthayasa Maheswara, 12 May 2002

The endurance race series II drew 30 riders. Young teen Alyssa Prameswari was the youngest competitor again, with newcomer Takao Ukena being the most senior. Mr. Ukena, in his mid-60s, completed the race (placed 15 out of 30) despite the fact that he requires a hearing aid.

We had a new competitor joining us from Sidartha Stables in Bali. Anto Binarto completed and finished in 6th place. Many first-time riders joined in the fun, and seven out of 30 horses were either retired or elimated.

ECI Endurance Race Series III - 30K Pegasus Ciawi, 2 June 2002

Pegasus National Championship

Pegasus Stable played host to the third endurance race. Located about an hour and a half away from Jakarta in Lido, Pegasus Stable is located within the Kinasih Cemerlang Resort, which is home to a hotel and full seminar facilities.

The usually pleasant weather in Lido was a cause of concern for the organizers and some riders. It had stormed the day before on Friday. On Saturday, late in the afternoon, it poured again. Worried faces expressed it all, what would the next day's weather be like?

But the heavens were kind, and so it was blue skies and a light breeze that lifted everyone's spirits.

Among the 20 competitors were a few brave newcomers. New riders like Pegasus Stable owner Yusni Prawiro and Adjani Stable owner Otto Satyawan bravely competed against the very experienced cavalry and police riders, with Pak Otto committing himself to the next race, 40 km. Good luck!

Here are the results:
Rider / Horse / Owner / Club / Time Taken
1. Nurgianto / Pernisia / Cavalry / Bala Turangga I / 03:11
2. Jamhur / Meltisia / Cavalry / Bala Turangga I / 03:16
3. Tanto R. / Sewu / Cavalry / BalaTurangga I / 03:18
4. A. Gunawan S. / Golden / POLRI / Bhayangkara / 03:33
