Dashper on his way to Australia
Tuesday, August 27th, 2002

Husref Malek will be reunited with Dashper on 9th September when his eventing horse is due to fly out to Australia from Singapore.

In an e-mail to Equestrian.Com.My, Husref said, "It was difficult to find flights to Australia because of the strict quarantine regulations and very costly to just send Dashper alone and I had to wait for racing trainers who wanted to send horses back to australia for breeding.

We missed a couple flights to Australia due to timing and quarantine clearance from Singapore. But he is now on his way."

Dashper has been stabled at the Bukit Timah Saddle Club, Singapore, under the care of Alla Poloumieva. The grey enters quarantine this week at the Jurong Quarantine Station, and will fly out with other racehorses on 9th Sept.

"I can't thank her (Alla) enough and the assistance from the Saddle Club has been helpful."

Husref is based in NSW, riding and training with Australian Eventing Olympic gold medallist Stuart Tinney.

"As for me, I'm preparing for Adelaide CCI** on my horse Get it On and......this is not finalized yet but I may ride one of Stuart's horses, Tex, in Adelaide too. We are in process of leasing him till Adelaide and if things work out I may lease him till Athens just to have that mileage at 3 star level and maybe my first 4 star next year.

Adelaide is very important for me and doing well there may secure my chances for Athens. Dashper would be ready to start this his first show this December and I cant wait to be competitive with him.

Not many acknowledge what I am doing here and the word struggle is correct to use as we do struggle to do what's right."

All the best, Husref and Dashper.
