Rain fell in the early hours of the morning, filling the water jump but making little difference to the going, which was surprisingly good.
There were three fallers, or perhaps we should say only two, as Wan Ming managed to come off twice. Kpl. Paramisparam was the other faller, and none of these riders got detached from their horses because of the going. In the AM5 jump-off, Wan Ming took a look behind her to see if she had knocked down No. 4, and while she was looking behind, Toby ran into one of the small Christmas trees, knocking her off. In the next class, Wan Ming was going clear to the last, a rising oxer over the small ditch. Toby ground to a halt and deposited her just in front of the ditch.
Julie Barnicott had a good round in the Intro Derby with Torbek, a racehorse just off the track that continues to impress with his positive can-do attitude. Earlier they had won the AM5 class.
Nabil was the star, nursing Cannon over the early fences on the course before they found their rhythm. They made it through the 18-fence course clear and just 1 second within the time.
Taman Equine's Ausmal Kardin and Lucky were second with one knock-down and in a time of 2 mins 30 secs. Edwin Lim and Half Pint left all the fences standing but had a run out at No. 12. It cost them 10 time faults, relegating them to 3rd place. Alex Maurer and Bob Marley were 4th with a total of 30 faults.
Alex had won the Preliminary 1A dressage test on Pee-Wee on Saturday.
STC's Chief Instructor Lorna Fisher won the Novice 2A test riding Merlin. Taman Equine's Susannah Nawawi was the only competitor in the Elementary 3A class, scoring 50%
Hazrin Abdullah and Billabong won the Driving Derby, just beating Ong Wan Ming and Lula.
