Special Award for Malik
Wednesday, March 26th, 2003

Abdul Malek Jeremiah, Executive Secretary of the Majlis Ekuin Malaysia (Malaysian Equine Council) has been given a special award at Malaysia’s 2002 National Sports Award.

This special award was for services rendered to equestrian sport, for the promotion and development of equestrianism in Malaysia.  En. Malik received the award at a ceremony at the Sheraton Subang Hotel last night, from the Minister of Youth and Sport.

Malik said to Equestrian.Com.My, “I am very humbled and honoured by this award.  It was not expected at all.  I received a letter a few weeks ago informing me of it.  Of course I am delighted, not only for myself but also for the industry.  It is recognition for the equestrian industry, that we have made progress.   I am being singled out but as I tell everyone,  I know that it is only through teamwork that this award has been received.

I hope that this will motivate everyone to improve, to take equestrian sports to the next level in Malaysia, where it should rightly be.”
