Helena Gabrielsson's leading South East Asian World Cup horse Aladdin injured himself in a stable accident early this morning.
The 2002 SEA World Cup League winner and 2003 leader injured itself from trying to kick through the temporary stables at 3Q Equestrian. It is believed that his hind legs were caught up in the partition and he hung there for a good part of the night.
We understand that there was a lot of blood loss from deep lacerations and a cut artery below a hind fetlock. The good news is that it seems that there are no broken bones or tendon damage. However, further participation in this year's World Cup series is now very doubtful.
The 9 y.o. Holstein gelding by Alcatraz x Lord is now recuperating in the Selangor Turf Club's Veterinary Centre. Aladdin is expected to return to work in approximately three months time.
Helena Gabrielsson has returned to Malaysia from Thailand to be with Aladdin.
