Polo Streakers
A trio of streakers bared themselves to the Prince Charles and 25,000 spectators at the Cartier International Polo event in England.
Lucky Olympic Number
Chinese preoccupation with the lucky number 8 emerged at the Olympics with the opening ceremony happening on 08.08.08. Did any notice that the time allowed for the shortened cross-country course was 8 minutes? Or that the time allowed in the showjumping is always 88 seconds?
Jump-Off thinks this is getting to be too much of a coincidence.
FEI Eventing Chairman 'snubbed'
Wayne Roycroft said he was snubbed by Chinese Olympic officials after being excluded from the Eventing team medal presentation and was now considering stepping down as chairman of the International Equestrian Federation eventing committee, a position he has held for eight years.
Paid Volunteerism
What about the steward who volunteered to serve at the Equestrian Olympics in Hong Kong? Having been accepted by the organisers, she now is asking her NF to complain that she wasn’t selected as an International technical Official. The difference – expenses are paid for ITO’s, while volunteers, um, volunteer their services.
EAM AGM Postponed
The overdue and long awaited Annual General Meeting of the Equestrian Association of Malaysia was postponed as the 2007 accounts were not presented. The Sports Commissioner was present and the meeting postponed a further six months, enabling the EAM to hold their next elections in 2009. The last elections were held in 2005.
A German dressage judge, after marking three movements, told a scribe and trainee judge to fill in the rest of the test with all 4's.

Jumping to Polo

Dato' Malik
Malaysian Equine Council's Malik Jeremiah received the Dato' Setia Diraja Kedah Award in recognition of his 20 years service to the State of Kedah and for his major contribution in reviving horse sports in the state of Kedah.
